Wine Tasting Midweeks
2nd - 7th November
Paul Carillon – Domaine Francois Carillon – Puligny-Montrachet
This week, we are delighted to showcase the wines of François Carillon, a name synonymous with elegance, precision, and the finest expressions of Burgundy.
The Carillon family’s history in Puligny-Montrachet traces back to 1611, making them one of the oldest winemaking families in the region. In 2010, François Carillon established his own estate, continuing this remarkable legacy while bringing fresh energy and vision to the Domaine. Today, the estate spans around 15 hectares, nestled in some of Burgundy’s most prestigious villages — Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Saint-Aubin.
With a portfolio of more than 15 appellations, the estate focuses primarily on Chardonnay, crafting wines that reflect the unique character of each terroir. Their range includes:
- 10 Premier Crus (3 Saint-Aubin, 3 Chassagne-Montrachet, 4 Puligny-Montrachet)
- 3 Village Appellations (Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Romain)
- 5 Regional Appellations (Bourgogne Côte d’Or Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, Bourgogne Chardonnay, Bourgogne Aligoté, Mâcon-Igé)
- And since 2021, a distinctive Vin de France.
Carillon’s wines are acclaimed worldwide for their refinement, balance, and purity, often gracing the wine lists of the world’s most distinguished tables. Each bottle is a true expression of place, produced with passion and meticulous attention to detail.

Famiglia Cotarella
Join Samuele Mandini as he visits to speak about the Famiglia Cotarella Wine Domaine.
Founded in 1979 by brothers Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella, Famiglia Cotarella is now proudly led by the third generation — Dominga, Marta, and Enrica — who continue a legacy of innovation, family tradition, and deep respect for the land.
The estate’s vineyards span Umbria and Lazio, with recent acquisitions in Tuscany, including Le Macioche in Montalcino. Their wines celebrate both native Italian grapes and international varieties, with standout labels such as Montiano, a benchmark 100% Merlot, and Sodale, a supple and elegant expression of the grape.
In Montalcino, the family crafts refined Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, while in Lazio, wines like Poggio dei Gelsi honour historic local traditions. Renowned for their elegance, balance, and authenticity, Famiglia Cotarella places strong emphasis on sustainability, education, and hospitality, ensuring each wine reflects not just its terroir, but also the values of the family behind it.
